Back to School and Holiday Events

Through these annual events, Sharing Life provides the necessities and a few luxuries to help parents provide for their children.

Back to School Faire: A day-long event that provides backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, clothing - all of the basics every child
needs to be successful in school.

Thanksgiving Baskets: Each year we collect food items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal and distribute them to families who
otherwise would not be able to afford it.

• The Sharing Life Christmas Faire:
The holidays at Sharing Life may have looked different due to the COVID pandemic, however, we decided to spread holiday cheer in a brand new way!  Rather than hosting our annual in-person Christmas Faire this year, Sharing Life blessed *100 families by helping with not only Christmas food and toy needs, we also provided housing and utility assistance, too! The criteria was a little different, but it will allowed us to make a significant impact in the lives of those families we help.
*Financial assistance was determined based upon available funding, subject to geographic and grant restrictions*
In addition, up to 500 children received the following items, delivered via our drive-thru food pantry:
*A Christmas food box
*Baking project supplies – cookie sheet, oven mitt, and cookie or brownie mix
*Wrapping paper
*Family board game
*Toys through our partnerships with WFAA Santa’s Helpers, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, and our generous donors.
In an effort to help as many families as possible, we coordinated with the Mesquite Police Santa Cop Toy program to provide toys for Mesquite ISD students.
